A few weeks ago I shared some pictures of Rosco when he first encountered a turtle.
His mom Katie says he jumped around like a big wuss, but eventually he obviously decided to inspect it a bit more closely.
We can't blame dogs for finding turtles fascinating; they are prehistoric and incomparable to anything else in a dog's world. Just watch this video of a German Shepherd trying to figure them out.
Some turtles can and do bite, and can be quite dangerous to your dog (and you). So never let your dog investigate if you aren't sure it's safe.
On the other hand, you might be missing out on a photo opportunity like this one!
If you click on any of these photos they link back to their original source and other turtle and dog photos.
Ok - so that's what happens when dogs meet turtles. What happens when turtles meet dogs?
Why this, of course!
The reason I have turtles on the brain is because yesterday I attended a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-themed birthday party for my twin nephews and Godsons. Chase and Connor will turn four this week, and if you can't give a Happy Birthday shout-out to your nephews on your own blog then what's the point of writing one, right?
So Happy Birthday to our little Ninja Turtles, some of the best miracles we know.
And to their parents, I apologize for making them stick their tongues out but it was the only way I could get them to both stand still and look at the camera at the same time. Of course, it's too cute not to share.
