While Hubs is tailgating at Penn State University, Wiley and I took advantage of a beautiful day to explore a new trail.
We had been to part of this trail last fall, and then for some reason or another we just sort of forgot about it.
This time we went in the opposite direction of the way we went last year, and we were not disappointed.
The trail went about a mile right along the Schuylkill River, which you can see in the background of some of the pictures.
On the other side of the path there were huge rocky outcroppings and some private property.
Eventually we came to a little bridge that crossed a tributary, and since the trail tapers off there we decided to turn around and head back.
There is an ongoing project to add more miles of trail, and the path Wiley and I walk along on the island nearby is part of the trail system as well.
I never pictured myself as someone who would care about hiking trails, but with a walking buddy like Wiley and weather like we had today I can't wait until we have new nearby places to explore.
